Yes, We Can. So, let's us raise a little more money for our movement before July 27.

It has been a while since the last visit of Launk Prathean Sam Rainsy to North America. It is understandable that everyone is busy with their lives. We are living in the West, and leasure time is not something we get to enjoy as much. As Sam Rainsy supporters, we have tried to balance it all - our family's life, responsibilities and the need of Cambodia. We are givers, not takers. Grace to you all.
As election month is fast approaching, I have been wondering whether more fund raising activities can be launched in order to support the election campaign. Can we do more? Sure, we can. And that is why I am taking this initiative to challenge everyone in an effort to start another campaign drive to raise some additional money for the Party. I ask you to join me and my local team in this final drive to assure our victory in July election - to give our total, and unconditional 110% support, to our leader and our party.

This election is really crucial to all Sam Rainsy supporters in many ways. Some of us have been a staunch supporters for such a long time. Most of you have invested much efforts and energy, including your moral support and financial resources into making Sam Rainsy Party a truly formidable force in Cambodian political landscape today. We have made enormous gain since the inception of our party. Now, it is not a time to lay back, or to fall into complacency. Let's race to the finish line together, my brothers and sisters.

We are the last hope of our people and our nation. Look at the way Hun Sen is throwing money around, buying anyone from SRP as if they are buying commodity at market price, the price. If they can't buy, then they resort to political intimidation, they have threatened and they have already starting menacing political activists. They know that SRP is the only party that posing a real challenge to their power. A legitimate threat from their perspective, no question about it.

When it comes to the issue of understanding basic needs of our people and Cambdodia's future survival, too many man wants to be prime minister. Most are mirrored in self-indulgance, egotistical, politically unrealistic and naively unpatriotic, at most. Their actions serve only the interests of the CPP, themselves, and foreigners. Simply stated, they just couln't see anything longer than their noses. One had already been at the helm as former Prime Minister, but only to find himself living in exile somewhere in Malaysia instead as a result of a mismarriage, political miscalculation, you know the rest.

If any of those leader truly care about the future of the country, then they would have chosen the right path, gracefully accepted their own strengths and weaknesses, pick a winning strategy by coming together under the leadership of Sam Rainsy movement to push the CPP out. That would have been logical, and admirable. It is a priority for any Cambodian nationalist, first and foremost. Picking a winning candidate, and rallying behind him to get the country moving once again in a right direction. Any other issues of concerns are really minors, easily negotiable and obtainable without a doubt. They will get more from Sam Rainsy, then keep trying with Hun Sen and the CPP. We can easily build the country together, with a much more open and respectable society, with greater freedom and liberties - not the way, this current CPP-lead gov't does. The country would at least has a better chance of moving our nationalist causes forward.

Put yourself in our leader's shoes, walks the miles as his has, millions of miles, behind him and you will see the tasks, the demands, the energy and the sacrifices that are needed to just getting up and go out days in days out. There are days that are good while others that are truly challenging, some days are awfully overwhelmed with emotions, sadness and compassion. It was just amazing for me see our leader sacrify his life, personal and family wise, to go through this kind of demanding process for the cause of the country.

Those who are sitting on a LaZBoy in the West have all the luxury of offering all sorts of criticism and analysis, pick and choose, while Sam Rainsy is doing what he does best, be with the needies, responding to urgent calls for helps to famillies being thrown out of their homes, their lands were seized, many are sicks and have no medications etc..
We support Sam Rainsy beause we realized that the alternative is not Cambodian sound. Either, we simply accepting the CPP's control, a return to totalitarian regime, long term misery of our people, and of course, a possible loss of civilization, a nation and Khmer race.
We are making another drive for more money. I urge you to join all of us in this effort to secure our victory on July 27, 2008. Give our leaders on the ground and those who bravely face the political threats on a day to day basis a real chance of making our collective and yet long deffered dream a reality - A free and democratic Cambodia.
Hail to the Victory.
